Now that gas is going down to normal, l can finally get the kind of vehicle that l REALLY want which is a good ol mid size SUV. l have always loved the pathfinder ever since my uncle brought his brand new 1993 Nissan Pathfinder. l was looking into getting maybe a 2001-2004 with the 240 HP engine but l was told that l should not rule out the 1996-1999 model. Does anyone have input? l heard that the 1996-1999 is a little underpowered. l drove the 2001-2004 and those things FLY.

Yes the 96-99 is underpowered. You wo not find many examples with low miles so l would only look at the 2001-2004. BTW the 2000s have the 2001 body with 99 engine so rule that out too. GO WITH THE 2001-2004

l have a '99 pathfinder LE 4X4 and it has plenty of power. l take it off road, and tow any type of trailer behind it. l do not know how much more power you need. its all stock by the way.
