l have a family of six and cant afford to take it to a dealer.but the backrest is broken in a reclined position. l have a few tools and will try myself, if its not too complicated.

Are you sure it is not just a recliner switch malfunction? Tough times Nissan mechanics are suffering to. Keep us in mind while your trying to fix your seat.

If you can find a replacement seat to match the others, l believe the seat is held in position by 4 bolts. Simply remove the bolts, and if its a power seat be sure you disconnect the power to it before removing it or you will be replacing a wiring harness too.

Its simple as pie!
You need to find yourself a replacement seat at a salvage yard. There are 4 bolts holding the seat down.. the two in the back have a little plastic cover that snaps off. Take loose those four bolts.. and then disconnect the wire harness under the seat. Now pull it out of there and slap the new one in!
l take the seats out of my maxima all the time just to vacuum and clean under them. Its that easy!
