l was driving down the road, the fuel light was on but the fuel gauge was just above E the engine died so l thoght l had run out of fuel but when l filled it up it woud not start what could the problem be?

gas line/injectors are air bound..bad to run out..bad on fuel pump..bad on cat converter,,, and pain in ss.

ok when u down the road ur gas will suddenly move to the front so the fuel pump cant suck the gas (if ur gas is lo) so all the gas in the fuel line were used by the engine so the engine stop running until u reach the flat road and u try to start the engine instantly. sure it wont start bcoz the fuel pumpneed to suck and fill the fuel line with gas..take a time let the fuel pump operate and start back..hazardous if ur car died in hill road ur brake cant work and could cause...

First I'd let it sit a bit but I'd check if the gas rail has a tire like valve so you can remove some of the air lock in the gas system by bleeding it by pushing the vale in a bit for awhile off and on.

Hope that helps and best of luck, by the way you should in fact see air bubbles coming out of the bleeder system bec that means it is air in fact causing the problem.
