l wanna know how much hp the stock engine can handle..with no mods

Around 400 hp the stock internals are fairly strong. Above 425 hp the pistons tend to melt at 147 miles an hour. First sign that detonation is happening is the tips of the spark plugs melt off. So be sure Knock sensor is working and you have large fuel injectors. Stock turbos can generate enough boost to get 425 hp with ecm mods

The stock engine can handle quite a bit. I've been running around 500 rwhp on a stock engine for a few years now. l do have slightly larger aftermarket turbos though.

The pistons do not melt above 400 hp.

if you are goin to mod the car then it wont be stock

just jokin, after some alright mods you can push around 500 or so to the rear wheels with the right little odds and ends
but if you really want that kind of power and not half to worry about the internals you might as well just upgrade them atleast new connecting rods and pistons,

or atleast get the kit for new bearings and such

I'd go with John Paul and toso on this.

500hp is about the point where you need to get new rods and pistons from what I've heard but John knows his stuff and if he says the pistons can start melting I'd start to worry about it.
