l have a 1997 nissan sentra gxe, the problem is that it overheats really fast and it wont run pass 20 mph. on some days when l would press on the gas the car would feel like it would wanna turn off and then one day it was overheating and it wouldnt wanna go any faster. my friend told me it would be the spark plugs, so we changed them and then it didnt wanna turn on. when we took it to the mechanic they said the distributor was broken and the fixed it. it ran for like two days and then the samething happened again but this time the thing under the engine was really hot and bright red. when we took it back they said it could of been the fuel pump, the distributor or the catalytic converter. does anybody know whats wrong with it?

Over heating (glowing red) cat converter may be due to clogged fuel pressure regulator. Actually the converter is probably clogged & the engine cannot rev up. The (bad distributor) & poor running before caused the cat to fail. For the correct repair spend the money & visit The Nissan Dealer. See if l told u the distributor would fix u up l would have to stand by that & if the converter plugged up Nissan would have to pay for that because my work is guaranteed. And while at Nissan look at some new cars ur Sentra might want to stay & u can drive away in a new Rogue.
