well it depends on how much the rims weigh. If the rims are heavier than it would probally use more gas.but it really woul not affect how much gas is being used by much.

While there are super-light alloy wheels out there, that would enable you to get 20'' rims weighing close to your stock rims, they are prohibitively expensive. If you're not shopping at the very top of the pricelist, any 20'' alloys you get will weigh a lot MORE than stock. Then there is increased rolling resistance. Both of the above factors will impact your MPG.
Your speedometer and odometer will indicate incorrectly as a result of changed wheel diameter as well.

Bigger rims and tires kills gas mileage two ways. Having to accelerate and slow that weight plus wider width and rolling resistance. So with high gasoline prices these days keep it the way the Nissan engineers designed it. Save the money in your investments. Attracting wheel and car thiefs is not good anyway.

It may slightly lower ur fuel economy but I'd be more worried about which tires u used. All tires have a rating called rolling resistance. The higher the value the more energy it need to move the tire which can dramatically change the amount of gas used.

Also if the new tire & wheel combination does not have the same diameter u also may be putting on more or less miles that u really r driving. So if the tire what r larger diameter, it will take more rotations than normal to travel a mile u u will actually put less miles on ur car than u driving. So if the diameter is smaller that before the wheel will rotate move often & u will put more mileage than u actually putting on & will reduce the value of ur car (showing more mileage than u really have) & the warranty will expire quicker than it should.

l did this on a Ford Thunderbird & was putting 11,000 mile on the odometer for every 10,000 miles driven (you need to do the math to know what ur car would be doing). Just something to keep in mind.
