How long do you have to idle to cool a 300zx twin turbo so its safe to turn off after a drive

If it was a hard drive, I'd say anywhere from 20 seconds to a minute depending on how hard you pushed it.

yep about 20 seconds. unless the motor is smoking hot. ive been driving 35 yrs or so and ive just always trun the car off when l got to where l was going and got out which take about 20 seconds.. you pull into your parking space you stop,,put in park, or first,, you undo your seat belt you look in the mirror adjust your hair and turn off the car

l say at least 5 to ten minutes dependin on the weather

l have a 1991 model with a turbo timer. When everything was near stock the longest l have ever seen the turbo timer count down was 2:30. Since most people live in an area (sub-division) where there is a few stop signs & at least 1/4 mile of slow speed limits before pulling into their driveway; 1 minute is a safe ''rule of thumb'' when arriving at home. The slow areas & stop signs near home give ur turbos a bit of a cool down since you're likely not using any boost at all. If u think about what an athlete does while cooling down to prevent injury: gradually slowing down, backing off in intensity- ur Z will benefit from the same treatment. 1 minute should be fine.

When l am stopping in a turbo car depending on what type of driving l have been doing will depend on how long l wait.If l have been running slow l give it around 20-30 seconds if l have been up into the boost a lot then l give it a good minute.

Get a turbo timer and set it for 2 minutes.. that will be good.

one minute should be all you need. On a very hot day outside l will give it 2 minutes max.
