ive seen a couple of gtrs on the road and some dealers but it said it wont be released to US until march 2009? wtf? is it a import currently? was the july release for the imports? ??????? im confused

Just have one imported from Japan like l did, it is a right hand drive and is legal to drive in the USA.

Carhuy has no idea what he is talking about. He does not own a GTR or a Japanese version because if he did he would know that even the Japan spec GTR still has a speed limiter on it. Also the Nissan dealership your going to might not get the GTR yet. Right now only a few US Nissan dealerships get the sell the GTR.

could be considered an import because of its non us manufacturere(nissan) but then again its being sold by dealerships in the US. dont listen to the first guy. the US versions dont have the 112 mph speed limiter on it.
see, all japanese gtrs have a gps unit in them & if the guys at nissan see that the car is ON a racetrack, theyll let the car bypass the speed limiter but at the same time, this would VOID YOUR WARRANTY(for the japanese gtrs, sux for them dont it.)

to the first guy: so the us versions arent the real deal? they still got awd, twin turbo 3.8l engine with 480 hp right? wouldnt importing one just cost the owner more money? importing cars r expensive. l should know. l REALLY wanna import an evo 6.5 t.m.e.

l considered an import because it is made in Japan. And in the US they are sold mostly on dealerships that are in good (mid rich) areas.

The new 2009 GT-R will not have launch control. That one will come out in March probably.

The 2008 model with Launch Control has been out for a while now.
2008 is the fastest year for the GT-R since it is the only year they will offer Launch Control.

They are no longer offering it because of reliability problems.

First thing is first, the JDM GT-R went on sale December 2007, & they started taking orders for USDM GT-R is in February 2008 with the first one being delivered in July. From July 2008 to the end of 2008, 1730 USDM GT-R is have been sold. C7S is right too, Launch Control is going away for 2010 models.

To CARGUY0035: hahahaha yeah tell this person to get a JDM GT-R which IS top speed limited, & pass up the USDM GT-R which is not speed governed in any way. USDM GT-R has been showing consistent 11.5/11.6 1/4 mile times by owners WITHOUT Launch Control. l have an extremely hard time believing u imported a JDM GT-R when u make false statements like u just did.

To STEVE: Thanks man, been waiting on that car since it was a concept in 2001. Saved up some money & jumped on the pre-order. All the ones here in Houston got snagged REAL quick.
